SCOTT PETERS - LAY ELDER

Scott Peters was installed as an Elder at Lakewood Fellowship in August 2022.

Scott grew up in Alabama and has called Dallas home since 2013. He and his wife, Alex, have two children, Nate and Tobin, and live in Lakewood. Scott works as a Principal at Tailwater Capital, where he serves as a Director of Frontier Carbon Solutions and Pivotal Petroleum Partners.

In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and rooting for his alma mater, The University of Alabama.

Randy Thompson - STAFF ELDER & Lead Pastor

Originally from the suburbs of Houston, Randy and his wife, Jen, met while attending undergrad at UT Austin. They were married in 2006, and after several years on staff at Houston Northwest Church, Randy moved to Dallas in 2008 to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. He received a Masters of Theology degree in 2012, and following graduation, he began working at Fellowship Bible Church Dallas, where he served as an equipping and teaching pastor until 2016.

In the spring of 2016, Randy sensed God calling him to serve as a Lead Pastor somewhere new. After a year of prayer and discussion, Randy and his family joined White Rock Fellowship where Randy would serve as their first Church Planter in Residence.

Since planting Lakewood Fellowship in 2018, God has confirmed His call on their lives again and again. By God’s grace, they are excited to be the hands and feet of the gospel; to be the light of Christ in Lakewood and throughout East Dallas.

Randy and Jen have three children, Cate, Reese, and Ellis and live in East Dallas. Randy enjoys Longhorn football, cooking, trying new foods, and good humor.

Kyle Cox - Associate Minister

Since graduating from Texas A&M in 2013, Kyle Cox has been in various ministry positions before settling down in Dallas at Lakewood Fellowship. Between August 2013 and July 2017, Kyle ministered at Grace Bible Church in College Station focusing primarily on college students and local and global outreach. During this time, he met his wife Chamila, who was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in Houston. She identified as a Buddhist until college, where she placed her faith in Jesus her freshman year at Texas A&M when someone handed her a Bible for the first time in her life. Kyle and Chamila served as missionaries in Greece for two years with Cru before moving to Dallas in August 2019 so Kyle could finish his THM at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Upon graduating Dallas Theological Seminary in May 2021, Kyle joined staff at Lakewood Fellowship as the Associate Minister over Outreach, Children’s ministry, and Communications. He is passionate about cultivating a deep community in this church plant, challenging members to engage in local and global outreach, and recognizing the importance of pouring into the spiritual lives of the children of Lakewood.

Kyle’s passion in ministry is to enter the lives of people with genuine care, biblical truth, and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by teaching the Bible, discipling and equipping God’s people, and participating in missional outreach, both locally and globally
